Courses for beginners
Have you been wondering what it’s like to breathe underwater? A PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience is a great way to find out what scuba diving is really like before you take the full scuba certification course.
Your scuba instructor will spend a little time with you to explain the basic principles of scuba diving and give you an overview of your scuba gear, which is supplied by the dive shop. Once you feel comfortable, your instructor will take you in the pool to help you learn basic scuba skills. Then, if you like, you can go with your instructor for a short discovery dive up to 40 feet/ 12 metres. Most Discover Scuba Diving experiences last about an hour or two.
The skills you learn during your Discover Scuba Diving experience may be credited toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification.
This course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development (eLearning, using your IPAD, or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
Courses for certified divers
This course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water.
This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI instructor. Then a Scuba TuneUp is just the refresher you need. It reacquaints you with diving and the basic skills of a safe recreational diver so that you’re back to feeling comfortable in the underwater world in a couple of hours. For many training classes above Open Water Diver, your instructor may require a review of your basic skills before additional training to assess your readiness to take on more training, so stay tuned up! The course is designed for anyone who wants to refresh their dive knowledge. The program is primarily designed for certified divers who wish to return to scuba diving after a period of inactivity, however, it is also a great resource for those divers who are returning to a course of training after a shorter break in the training cycle.
